Medicare only covers 80% of the medical costs, so a supplement is needed to pay the remaining balance. Medicare Supplements pay the balance of deductibles, co-insurance and co-pays. Medicare Supplement plans are all standardized. Different plans offer varying levels of coverage. With multiple carriers available to us, we will check to make sure your physicians are in their network.
It is important to note that Medicare does NOT cover long term care, vision or dental. Santa Cruz Health and Life does offer policies to cover these exposures as well.

PART D, PRESCRIPTION DRUGS
Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage is available to anyone who is also eligible for Original Medicare. Medicare Part D is purchased through a private insurance company that is contracted with Medicare to offer these plans. Insurers offer different types of plans. Your cost for the plan and your out-of-pocket expenses for prescription drugs will vary depending on the provider. Each carrier has their own formulary (preferred drug list). We will be able to help you review the options to decide which plan is best for you.
